Terms of use
Plain terms for a free tool. Using On The Books means you accept them.
Last updated 20 August 2026.
What this is
On The Books collects job calls that IBEW locals publish on their own public websites and puts them on one map with wage, schedule, per diem, and book context. It is a research and shortlisting tool for travelers.
What this is not
- Not dispatch. Only the hall dispatches. A call shown here may already be filled, changed, or withdrawn.
- Not official. On The Books is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the IBEW, any local union, NECA, or any contractor.
- Not financial, tax, or legal advice. Pay figures are screening estimates, not withholding calculations and not an offer of employment.
- Not a complete picture. Many locals dispatch by phone or behind a members-only login, and some public boards cannot be read on a given pass. An empty list here never means a hall has no work.
Verify every call with the hall before you make a move. Do not travel, resign a book, quit a job, or spend money based on what this app shows.
Accuracy and availability
Data is normally refreshed twice a day, morning and evening. That is the routine, not a guarantee. Every surface shows the exact time of the last successful sync. The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, and may be changed or interrupted at any time. To the fullest extent the law allows, On The Books is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the data, including travel costs, lost work, or lost wages.
Apple app and existing website accounts
Apple v1 has no account or account sync, and the public website does not require an account. Existing website account infrastructure remains preserved for prior users and purchases. If you already use one, keep its sign-in email secure, provide accurate information in reports, and do not use someone else's account. We may suspend an existing account used to abuse the intake or service.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, bulk-download, or resell the dataset. A separate paid API lane exists for automated access.
- Do not attempt to bypass access controls, rate limits, or authentication.
- Do not submit unlawful, harassing, or deliberately false reports.
- Do not use the service to interfere with any local's referral process.
Content you submit
You keep ownership of what you send. If you email support or the server accepts a website Feedback or Community report, you grant On The Books permission to use it to operate and improve the product, including investigating an issue and correcting the dataset. A browser-local draft that the server does not accept is not a submitted report. Do not send confidential or member-only information.
Third-party sites and marks
Links to local union websites and job boards are provided for verification. Those sites are controlled by their owners, not by us. IBEW, NECA, and local union names, logos, and marks belong to their respective owners and are used here only to identify the local a call came from.
What is in this release
- Website: traveler map and calls, browser-local watchlist, state pages, Community and Feedback drafts, pay calculator, and conduit bending calculator.
- Apple v1: calls, locals and map, device-local saved calls and watchlists, pay calculator, conduit bending calculator, reviews, and optional tips. It has no account sync, delivered alerts, Sparky assistant, Travel & States module, or Apple Watch companion.
- There is no exam-prep, National Electrical Code study, or code-reference product in this release, and those pages are switched off.
Price
The consumer website and Apple app are free. The Apple app offers three optional consumable tips processed by Apple; they unlock nothing and buy no feature. Existing website Stripe purchase records remain preserved while consumer checkout is dormant. Automated agent and API access is a separate paid lane and never restricts free consumer access.
Removal requests
If you represent a local and want its public board excluded, email support@unshackledpursuit.com or use the contact on Support.
Changes
These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and continuing to use the service means you accept the current version.
