Support

The On The Books website and Apple app are free to use. Here is how to get help, report bad data, and understand what the numbers mean.

Contact us

Email support@unshackledpursuit.com for support, bugs, missing calls, deletion requests, or questions about On The Books. This is a monitored mailbox and is the surest way to make sure we receive your message.

Report a wrong, missing, or stale call

Email the address above with the local number, what the hall actually shows, and the official source link or a screenshot if you have one. You can also save the details in the Community form, but the anonymous release keeps that form as a browser-local draft unless the server explicitly confirms that it accepted it.

Bugs, ideas, and anything else

Email the monitored address above, or open the website and use its Feedback panel. Website Feedback and Community forms always keep a local draft. A draft is not a submitted report unless the screen says the server accepted it.

Security reports

Email support@unshackledpursuit.com with “On the Books Security” in the subject. The same address is published in /.well-known/security.txt. Please do not place a security issue in the Community form.

What OTB actually knows

OTB reads public union job boards. It never uses member credentials and never signs in to a members-only portal. That means a local shows up in one of a few honest states, and OTB says which one:

Monitored — calls listed
OTB read the local's public board and parsed the calls you see.
Monitored — none posted
OTB read the board successfully and it listed no calls at that moment.
Public board — OTB could not read it
The fetch or the parse failed. This is not a zero. There may be calls posted right now. Open the local's own board or call the hall.
Members-only call list
The list is behind a member login, so OTB cannot see it at all.
Phone / in-person dispatch
The local dispatches by phone or at the hall and publishes no online list.
Not yet researched
OTB has not identified a public call source for this local yet.

An empty Calls list is never a claim that the halls are empty. It only ever means OTB has no public rows to show you.

How fresh the data is

OTB normally refreshes twice a day, morning and evening. That is the routine, not a guarantee — boards change between passes.

Every surface shows the exact time of the last successful sync, in your own time zone. A board can fill or empty between passes, so treat the numbers as a shortlist, not as dispatch.

About the pay estimates

Wage, schedule, and per diem come from the posting when the local publishes them; otherwise the wage is a scale-based estimate and is labelled est. Net pay is a screening estimate only — it uses tax year 2026 federal single-filer brackets (IRS Rev. Proc. 2025-32), FICA at 7.65%, and a flat per-state rate that is OTB's own estimate rather than an official state schedule. It is not withholding advice and it is not your paycheck.

Accounts, apps, and money

  • The consumer website and Apple app are free. There is no consumer paywall or trial.
  • Apple v1 has no account or account sync. Saved calls, watchlists, home local, and calculator settings stay on the device.
  • Apple v1 has no delivered alerts, Sparky assistant, Travel & States module, or Apple Watch companion. Three optional consumable tips are processed by Apple and unlock nothing.
  • Existing website accounts and historical Stripe purchase records remain preserved, but neither is required for the free consumer website or Apple v1.
  • A paid API lane exists for automated agents. It is separate and never affects free consumer access.

What is in this release

  • Website: map, calls, browser-local watchlist, state pages, Community and Feedback drafts, pay calculator, and conduit bending calculator.
  • Apple v1: calls, locals and map, device-local saved calls and watchlists, pay calculator, conduit bending calculator, reviews, and optional tips.
  • Exam prep, NEC study guides, and the code-reference sheet are not part of this release and remain switched off while their source material goes through provenance review.
